United StatesWe purchased this kettle as part of the whole tea set. We were a little surprised they called it a “kettle” rather than a “tea pot”, but thought it was just a matter of cultural differences. Truth is, it is an actual kettle. This beautiful delicate looking tea pot is a bona fide kettle to use on a hot plate to boil the water for your tea ceremony. It is a lot tougher than it looks. It also serves beautifully as an elegant western-style tea pot for steeping tea, and we use it for both. The texture of the glass brings out the beauty of the tea liquid. Never thought we would be so fascinated by the look of tea until we started to use this tea set. It adds yet another dimension to that morning cuppa. Highly recommend it, as well as the whole set.
